He just asked Fleur Delacour to the ball. Actually he sort of screamed at her.
GOF, MAN. YEAH!
Yes! You've all seen it! But it was just released TODAY in this here jolly country. Yes, I know! Tell me about it!
Okay, so! What a movie! It was great, but I think I like PoA over this one. Like, this one was heaps, heaps darker (as the critics have said over 45,000,000 times), but PoA, to me, was a better film. However, it's interesting how both PoA and this movie have the same atmosphere about them - and it was just simply created by the lighting and the overall mood of the picture. The movie was enjoyable and things, but I don't think it really lived up to what the 734 trailers featured. Looking at them, the movie looks HUGE AND SPECTACULAR AND FULL OF ACTION AND LIGHTS, and it really wasn't, but that doesn't mean that I didn't like it.
Harry, man, he was awesome. You can tell Dan has really grown as an actor, and, you know, physically ;) - his cheekbones are really ... something and he has fucking nice shoulders, ahahah. I was generally worried about the retardedness of his hair in the promo pics, but you can just ignore it. Seriously though, he was great. I LOVED HIS SARACASM, dude: Cedric:: How are you, Harry? Harry:Spectacular. I adored his angstyness over Cho, but I think his little daydream about her on the train, after they first met was not emphasised, come on man!
The rift between Ron and Harry was great! But I really wanted Harry's 'I didn't ask for my parents do die' speech just because of that extra emotion. And I bet H/Hr shippers were totally bummed that Harry and Hermione didn't go for that walk around the lake during breakfast. Well, I knew I was - I'm a fucking H/Hr shipper at heart. But the fight was great - 'Ron told me to tell you that Parvati told Dean that .... Hagrid's looking for you'. Ah, adolescents are so funny. But Ron's random 'Piss off' in the dorm room? Like, dude, the moment was over 4 seconds ago.
You know Hagrid? He's one of my least favourite characters in the books. Seriously, I tend to skip Hagrid-oriented bits when I reread things - like that whole chapter 'Hagrid's Tale' in OotP? Yeah, that was a crappy chapter and the first time I read it, I had the need to go over it a dozen times to really pay attention. Anyway, in the films, I really don't mind him as much. He's actually pretty cool in the films. Maybe I should reconsider my dislike for him.
Cedric, oh, Cedric! He was just your genuine pretty boy! Cute, and a daddy's boy. I really enjoyed his and Harry's run towards the cup, though, showing their determination! But then here was Ced's downfall (literally! With plantation!) and Harry's nobleness to let them both be Hogwarts champion. Didn't really work out, tough....? I was crying all over the place when Harry came back with Ced's body. And when ghost!Cedric was all 'take my body back to my father'. And when Harry was all 'NOOOO' when Ced died. Horrible.
Dumbledore, what the FUCK. To be honest, I HATE Gambon's Dumbledore. He was tolerable in PoA because he didn't do much, but in this, he was just off the plot. What's with the violence, man? What's with the grabbing and dramatic accusations! Particularly just after Harry was chosen as the fourth champion! At this point, I was about to cry and just wish that Richard Harris came back. Seriously, I'm fucking worried for the rest of the films. Dumbledore and Harry are about to (and should have already) have some important conversations that just scream for Harris's peaceful, possibly understanding, approach. Gambon makes thing really awkward and his scenes just make Dumbledore appear as if he's fucking working for Voldemort. Like, what was with him grabbing Harry's arm when they were interrogating Crouch Jnr? Can't the man see that this boy HAS JUST BEEN TO HELL AND BACK AND HAS A FUCKING CUT ON HIS WRIST? Not happy! And I am fucking outraged for the lack of end-of-year Harry/Dumbledore pep talks. I always thought they carried the books.
NEVILLE, HOLY SHIT. HE'S PRETTY CUTE. And when he was dancing! Totally lame, but omg!
H/Hr! <3! But I so wanted the whole 'Scarlet Woman' fiasco and Hermione gettingthe Bubotuber Pus and then getting a smaller egg from Mrs. Weasley. And you know what! I miss Mrs. Weasley!!! And where is WEATHERBY!!!!
I think the first task was spectacular but a bit too emphasised. The Tasks in general were amazing. I missed the sphinx and the challenges in the maze, though but I guess all the mind-warping-path-shrinking leaves were pretty cool. What was up with the vines eating you up though? Speaking of that! Fleur! Is she not good at anything? AND WHERE WAS HER VEELA-NESS? Like, Poesy is a total babe, but where were the curves! Where was the long, flowing blonde hair! Why didn't you talk much in your funny accent! I didn't pay to see a rigid, boring, ordinary blonde chick! I WANT SEXXXX. I WANTED TO SEE YOU MAKE OUT WITH WHATSHISNAMERAVENCLAW BEHIND A ROSEBUSH!
DAVID TENNANT IS REALLY HOT. 'Hello, father!'.
Snape. Sirius. OH WHY. I want Gary Oldman! I don't want some lame fire-ash thing! And you know the scene in the book where Sirius is with Dumbledore and Harry wheile Harry is retelling what happened in the graveyard? My favourite scene! Where was it, Mr. Newell? OH, AND SNAPE AND SIRIUS'S HANDSHAKE? And their assigned task to gather up the Order? Where was that? They have a shitload to explain in OotP, and that book is LONGER.
ROOONNNN. You know the first thing I though when he came on? 'Nice arms, lover!'. For some reason, it's as if Ron is not really there, if you know what I'm on about? It's like he didn't get that much screentime as Emma or Dan, and that he could easily be considered a secondary character. COME BACK, RON.
Hermione was gorgeous. Really, I thought she was fab! Ron ruining everything, though? Noooo.... he didn't really.
RALPH FIENNES. Got to hand it to him! I thought he was great! No nose and all! I was expectation Voldemort to be completely digital, to be honest, with Fiennes just doing the voice. But no! You could actually tell it was Fiennes physically there as or favourite dark lord! Did you see his wand though? Did it look more like a bone to you then a wand? Because that would completely screw up the whole phoneix feather thing... then again, Fawke's song never made it to even CoS. Boo to that.
wangoballwime?
Rambling all that just makes me want to read the book again. Wicked. I'm seeing GoF again tomorrow, and then Saturday. I know! :D
